#TheNewEditionStory/#NewEditionBET REVIEW: I was going to watch this #miniseries regardless, but the promos DID NOT enthuse me. They looked aiight, but it was no "The Temptations" it seemed. BOY was I wrong.🤐The lesson there boys and girls—watch it for yourself before you form your full conclusion.☝🏾 From the beginning the "young New Edition" were terrific—like really terrific.🙌🏾They could act and most importantly they could sing and dance—or at least look like they could sing. The singing is not as important as the dancing. You can "fake" the singing, the dancing🕺🏾🕺🏾🕺🏾🕺🏾🕺🏾you cannot. These kids completely had you invested and by the time they switched to the "young adult New Edition" 🕐🕑🕒you were like "Hey!"😠 Well the young adult cast that would carry the rest of the series were terrific as well. I'll keep it real, I thought they were mostly dancing and singing like the real NE—which they had down, but that last hour after the disastrous Home Again Tour these fellas really kicked in the dramatic chops and had you like whoa 😮. From the singing and dancing to the acting, they were really great! Making it all look great was the director of the miniseries #ChrisRobinson.👏🏽The performance scenes from the young NE to the older NE looked fantastic like really FANTASTIC! Each song can be released as a really great music video. He also recreated great moments like the 'If It Isn't Love' video to great affect.🎬 Congratulations to the network, BET, the whole cast and crew who put this miniseries together, including ALL SIX members of #NewEdition who were aboard as producers, y'all really put together something great, for your legacy, for your fans, #ForTheCulture ✊🏾 #DanksReview

BET’s buzzy 3-part biopic, “The New Edition Story”, is a bona fide phenomenon, attracting 29 Million Total Viewers to the miniseries during premiere week (including premiere telecasts and encores, across BET and Centric). On BET alone, the miniseries drew 15.7MM viewers 18-49 and 28.4MM total viewers P2+ in its full premiere week (Live + Same Day viewing).
On Twitter, BET and “The New Edition Story” drove the top 20 trending topics each night, including #Betamax, #BobbyBrown, #CandyGirl, #MikeBivins, and #LukeJames. Over the weekend, “The New Edition Story” continued to trend as BET aired a marathon of the special.
